Media Release: S. Group’s global philanthropic impact reaches $1,000,000

S. Group / June 03, 2020

Local architecture & marketing business S. Group has reached a milestone global impact, after this month tallying $1,000,000 in philanthropic donations.

Since it was founded in 2011, S. Group has strived to make an impact not only in its local community, but also particularly in third world countries around the globe. Over the past few months, the business has continued to support its overseas neighbours such as The Good Shepherd Agricultural MissionMission (Banbasa, India), Cross Culture (Kolkata, India), along with developing nation crowd-funding platform Kiva.

Despite the impacts of COVID-19 being felt across the business community, S. Group’s General Manager Phil Beeston says that the business has made a concerted effort to continue, and not reduce, acts of generosity.

‘It is especially important during these challenging times that we all continue to show generosity and stand alongside our global community. The impacts of COVID-19 are expected to be most damaging for those who already face disadvantage, such as children from poor families in developing nations’, said Mr Beeston.

Mr Beeston said the team were especially excited about the imminent completion of a housing project at the Good Shepherd Agricultural Mission orphanage and school in northern India.

‘During 2017, some of our team travelled to the orphanage and subsequently designed the facility, following which funds were raised and donated enabling the project. The $220,000 construction project will house 6 families who are in desperate need.’

When completed, the facility will allow the school to increase its staff, better equipping it in delivering a quality education to its students.

‘As well as creating space for additional staff and teachers to be hired and housed, this new development will provide dignity and respect for the long-term staff members and their families, many of whom work without pay, having served their entire lives on the mission grounds’, said Mr Beeston.

The project is expected to be completed within the next 4-6 weeks.
