The 'valley dwelling' is situated high in the hills under #kunanyi in #hobart. with the site's strong connection to place, it was important to retain these relationships through the design. the floor plan is a resultant ‘u’ shape which on the mountain-side creates a sheltered courtyard at ground level with glazed connections to the inside spaces. the house also incorporates a sunken lounge space which takes full advantage of the vista toward the river derwent. clad in a natural material palette of concrete block and greyed timbers, we can't wait to progress the project for this awesome young family! #chasewonder
