- Promoter
This competition is run by S. Group as the architect appointed by City of Launceston.
- Eligibility
- Entry is open to residents of Tasmania.
- Participants under 18 years of age must have consent from a parent or guardian.
- Employees of S. Group, Birchalls Build Co., and the City of Launceston (and their immediate families) may enter but are not eligible to win prizes.
- Competition period
- Entries open Tuesday 27 January 2026
- Entries close at 11:59pm on Sunday 8 February 2026
- Late entries will not be accepted.
- How to Enter
To enter, participants must:
- Design one of the following playground elements:
- Something to jump on
- Something to climb on
- An animal feature
- Create the design using one of these three mediums:
- A LEGO model
- A Minecraft build
- A drawing
- Upload a clear photo or digital file of the design via the official competition submission form, including required contact details.
Only one entry per person per category is permitted.
- Judging and Selection of Winners
- Judging will be carried out by S. Group and based on creativity, clarity of the concept, and suitability for inclusion in the Launceston Mall playground.
- One winner will be selected for each of the three categories.
- Winners will be announced on Monday 9 February 2026 and contacted directly by S. Group by the contact details provided in your entry.
- Prizes
Each of the three category winners will receive their choice of one (1) prize:
- A Minecraft voucher from EB Games
- A LEGO voucher from Toyworld
- An art supplies voucher from the Launceston Art Centre
Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable for cash.
- Use of entries (Copyright & Permissions)
By entering the competition, participants (or their parent/guardian for entrants under 18) grant S. Group:
- The right to use the submitted images, designs, names, and associated materials digitally and in print,
- For any promotional, marketing, or communication purposes related to the playground project or future S. Group activities,
- Without payment, notification, or further permission.
This includes (but is not limited to) social media posts, website content, media releases, presentations, and project documentation.
Entrants retain ownership of their original design.
- Playground Implementation
Winning designs may be adapted by S. Group for safety, constructibility, or practical installation considerations. Implementation of any winning design is at the sole discretion of S. Group and project partners.
- Privacy
Personal information provided during the entry process will only be used for the administration of this competition and will not be shared with third parties, except where required for prize fulfilment or project communication.
- General Conditions
- S. Group reserves the right to amend, suspend, or cancel the competition if necessary.
- S. Group accepts no responsibility for lost, late, or improperly submitted entries.
