Quirky, playful and impervious. Meet the Lodi Court House.
If you close one eye and tilt your head forty-five degrees to the right, the design of this swish beachfront home mimics the swell of a wave crashing into shore. With both eyes open, it's a sleek, modern, three bedroom, two bathroom 'shack' designed to complement its beach surrounds and create a great quality of life for its lucky owner.
One of the challenges in designing the Lodi Court house was to find the right cladding to strike a balance which would complete the superb architectural design while withstanding the elements. The result was a mix of panelling and Colorbond.
The large, open-plan living area was designed to create an inviting space for family use and entertaining, connecting seamlessly to the split level outdoor deck and patio. The second story serves as a viewing platform for maximising ocean views through strategically placed (and pretty freakin' edgy) asymmetrical windows.
