The Good Shepherd Agricultural Mission is an orphanage home for children in North India, lead by our dear friend Clifton Shipway and his family.
Since 2017, S. Group has partnered with the GSAM and the Maxton Strong School to construct new housing for six of their staff families. This project has been in development for years and is desperately needed, with many current staff homes in terrible states of disrepair. The facility will also allow the school to increase its staff, better equipping it to deliver quality education to students from the broader community.
The project kicked off in 2017 with our team taking a trip to northern India, from which the scope and design of the housing project was developed. Following this, a fundraising event and campaign was carried out, in which over $200,000 was pledged and raised for the construction of the project!
Officially opened in July 2020 this new development will not only create space for additional staff and teachers to be hired and housed, but it will also provide dignity and respect for the long-term staff members and their families, many of whom work without pay, having served their entire lives on the mission grounds.
