Residential architecture.
Newstead Crescent (Launceston) is a spot rich with character homes, including the lovely "Newstead House" which was built by Ronald Campbell Gunn back in 1856.
Our team were extremely excited to be engaged for this project which saw a complete renovation of the existing home, along with a new extension incorporating a master suite, and new living and kitchen zone. A new double garage with a gym was also developed, located separately from the home.
In approaching this project we sought to honour the 'old' by clearly delineate the 'new'. The original home features double-brick, with a typical hip roof. The new extension is incorporated within a gable form, featuring James Hardie Axon along with Shou Sugi Ban (charred timber) cladding.
