“The Flinders Wharf. The best of Flinders Island in one place.”

This is one of the coolest projects we here at S. have had the opportunity to work on – a vernacular old Australian shed, sitting on the coastline on Flinders Island in a little town called Whitemark.

Working with local legends Jo and Tom, The Flinders Wharf is taking Flinders Island to the world, having turned the old wharf shed into one of Tasmania’s most stunning destinations!

The location within Whitemark forms a hub for the community, but also a destination for visitors. And located within the facility, is Furneaux Distillery – distilling their own whisky, gin and vodka.

Paying homage to the original and authentic farm shed style, we have utilised traditional materials such as corrugated iron and raw timber, whilst the interior is contrasted with a refined fit-out.

We’re so excited to have worked on this project – resulting in something absolutely amazing not just for tourism on Flinders Island, but for tourism in Tasmania!
