With services located in suburbs surrounding Hobart, Launceston, Burnie and Ulverstone, Discovery Early Learning Centre is Tasmanian family-owned and operated. With a strong focus on nature-based play, they have extensive experience in providing high-quality education and care for children across Tasmania.
Discovery approached us in late 2018 looking for a basic brochure update, but after noticing a disconnect between their values and their messaging and style, we took them through our brand audit process. They completely agreed that the design of a fresh brand identity was necessary.
Equipped with a new positioning line “in their nature”, while retaining their philosophy of Imagine, Explore, Discover, the new brand takes its colours from Tasmania’s environment. The symbol simultaneously represents growth, community and exploration, along with the individual focus of the services.
This branding is rolling out to centres across Tasmania, with new centres opening entirely with the new brand in place.
Capturing imagery at each centre has been a pure joy, with thoughtful outdoor environments designed to mimic nature, and indoor environments custom-built to aid flow and a sense of community.
The website is designed to be easy to navigate and adult-focused rather than childlike (as most childcare sites seem to be) while still retaining warmth, an element of storytelling and communicating Discovery’s unique style and professionalism. Behind the scenes, it also has a powerful enrolment system integrated, making new enrolments and updates to existing enrolments much simpler for parents and staff.
The new positioning and brand provide a clear link to the unique service style delivered by Discovery, and differentiate them immediately from other child care offerings, making it easier for parents to make a connection to this amazing service. We honestly wish we could go to a Discovery Early Learning Centre!
